United Airlines flight UA-2169 made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on December 1st.
The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Chicago, Illinois, was on final approach to DFW Airport when the crew noticed loss of airspeed indication due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: While en route, the plane experienced engine trouble. The pilot shut down the engine and returned to East London where it made a safe landing.
Four people were killed after a single engine Piper 32 plane, en route from Hereford, Texas, to Gettysburg, South Dakota crashed in foggy weather, in a wind farm. According to FAA records, the plane was registered to Donald J. Fischer, from Gettysburg, South Dakota.
The incident occured, when the passengers of ill-fated airplane were returning after attending a sale of live cattle and embryos in Hereford. The wreckage of crashed plane was found on Monday, April 28, at the South Dakota Wind Energy Center, located towards south of Highmore and containing 27 turbines, having a height of 213 feet, excluding the blade length.
Three passengers and the pilot were pronounced dead in the incident. Luce Funeral Home confirmed the pilot’s identity as Fischer, 32, while Lien Funeral Home revealed identities of 2 passengers as Logan Rau, hailing from Java and Brent Beitelspacher, belonging to Bowdle. The identity of third passenger is not known at the moment.
A spokesperson of Florida-based NextEra Energy Inc., Steve Stengel confirmed that the incident caused damage to turbine. He also said, “It’s been so foggy up there and we haven’t had a chance to investigate.”
NTSB is investigating the cause of accident.
Virgin Atlantic flight VS-89 had to return and make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, England, on July 27th.
The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Saint Lucia but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Air Canada flight AC-1233 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 15.
The Airbus A321-200 en-route from Myers, Florida, to Toronto, Canada, was mid air when the crew detected some issue with CIDS (Cabin Intercommunication Data System) followed by an odor, causing the plane to divert for a safe landing.
The plane landed safely.
All 181 people on board remained unharmed.
Daallo Airlines flight D3159 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mogadishu, Somalia, on February 2nd.
The Airbus A321 plane took off for Djibouti, but had to return shortly afterwards after an explosion sparked fire and blew a hole in the fuselage.
The plane landed back uneventfully. There were 74 passengers and crew members aboard at the time; two of them sustained minor injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
Air New Zealand flight NZ-410 made an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on July 14th.
The plane flying from Wellington, New Zealand declared an emergency after it was struck by lightning.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unhurt.
