    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Delta County Airport

    A small plane made an emergency landing at Delta County Airport in Michigan, on November 3.

    Authorities said the single-engine experimental Kitfox plane had to perform an emergency landing due to gearbox failure that stopped propeller movement.

    The plane landed on the north side of the ramp and ended up into a ditch between taxiway and runway.

    The pilot remained uninjured.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    What: TRIP Linhas Aereas Aerospatiale ATR-72-500 en route from Curitiba to Cascavel Brazil
    Where: Cascavel
    When: Jan 10th 2010
    Who: 70 on board
    Why: Near Cascavel the left engine caught fire. The engine was shut down and the fire suppression system activated and put it out. However, Cascavel was closed due to low visibility, and the flight diverted to Iguassu Falls. Cascavel travelers were bussed from Iguassu Falls.

    Dourados and Campo Grande passengers were provided connecting flights.

    KLM Plane Returns to China due to Engine Problems

    KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL-896 had to return and make an emergency landing at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai Shi, China, on May 12th.

    The Boeing 777-300 flying to Amsterdam, Netherlands, had to return due to problems with one of its engines.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 396 people aboard remained safe.

    Finnair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Helsinki

    Finnair flight AY-348 made an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on October 1st.

    The plane flying from Joensuu, Finland, was descending toward Helsinki when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a technical failure.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Batik Air Plane Rejects Takeoff From Kathmandu

    Batik Air flight OD-181 had to reject takeoff from Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 19th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane was commencing takeoff for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed due to a configuration warning.

    All one hundred thirty-two passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.
