What: Air Comet Airbus A330-200 en route from Madrid Spain to Buenos Aires Argentina

Why: While en route to Argentina, Brazilian Authorities denied overflight permission to Air Comet. The flight had to return to Madrid. Although the plane had the essential paperwork, . Air Comet owes substantial debt (air taxes) to the Brazilian government.
TAP Portugal flight TP-1534 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Amílcar Cabral International Airport, Cape Verde, Africa, on July 28th.
The Airbus A320-200 flying from Praia to Lisbon, Portugal, had to divert due to bird ingestion by one of its engines.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
Pobeda Airlines flight DP-522 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Vnukovo International Airport, Russia, on June 6th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Rostov to Saint Petersburg, Russia, was diverted after the crew reported strange unidentifiable noise in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

What: Air France Airbus A319-100 en route from Paris to Madrid
Where: Madrid
When: Feb 17th 2012
Why: On landing in Madrid, the Airbus incurred a bird strike.
Although the pilots made a safe landing, the return flight for that plane was cancelled due to damage to the plane.

What: Air Canada Boeing 767-300 en route from London Heathrow to Halifax

Why: On approach to Halifax, the plane experienced a flaps problem which aborted the first attempted landing. The plane made a second pass and landed safely.
Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-686 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on July 23rd.
The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, was on final approach when the crew received an unsafe gear indication and aborted the approach.
The crew subsequently worked the checklists and landed safely on second approach.
All 226 people aboard remained safe.
