Delta Airlines flight DL-2570 made an emergency landing in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 5th.
The plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a bird strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 144 passengers and 5 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
Etihad Airways flight EY-73 made an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on June 18th.
The Boeing 787-900 plane flying from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was on approach to Zurich when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and aborted the approach.
The plane subsequently landed at higher than normal speed. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
British Airways plane had to divert and make emergency landing at Cairo International Airport, Cairo, Egypt, on April 14th.
The aircraft en-route from Hurgahada, Egypt to London, UK, had to return shortly afterwards after a female passenger onboard fell sick.

United Airlines flight UA-1618 had to return and make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport, Colorado, on August 13.
The Airbus A320-200 flying to Virginia had to return due to bird ingestion.
The plane landed safely.
All 153 people aboard remained safe.
Air Nelson flight NZ-8242 made a safe landing at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on May 12th.
The de Havilland Dash 8-300 flying from Palmerston North was about to reach when it had to enter a hold due to unsafe gear indication.
The plane landed safely.
All 30 people aboard remained safe.

Why: While en route, the flight developed engine trouble and diverted to Minneapolis but with more trouble, diverted their diversion to Detroit where they made an emergency landing.
