Air India flight AI-460 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India, on October 12th.
The plane was flying from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, when the crew declared an emergency due to a technical issue.
The plane landed safely. There were more than 100 passengers and crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Why: Ten minutes after takeoff, smoke was streaming from the plane’s right engine, and the cabin filled with the smell of burning rubber. The plane diverted to Wellington where it landed safely, and passengers debarked.
An American Eagle flight returned and made an emergency landing at Sioux Falls Regional Airport, South Dakota, on November 15.
The plane took off for Chicago but had to return immediately afterwards after the pilot reported an engine problem.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 50 passengers remained safe.
The FAA is investigating.

What: Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400 en route from Manila to Nagoya

Why: After taking off for Detroit, the plane developed technical problems and the pilot returned to Manila where it made a safe landing with airport’s medical and Fire and Rescue teams on standby.
After being in the air less than an hour, the pilot returned to land at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
There were no injuries, but passengers complained of waiting long hours for travel solutions to being stranded. The exact nature of the technical problem of the plane was not released.
United Airlines flight UA-1696 ran into turbulence while heading to Seattle, Washington, on May 21st.
Authorities confirmed that the plane, flying from Newark, New Jersey, encountered turbulence that injured a flight attendant.
The plane landed uneventfully in Seattle.
American Airlines flight AA-5957 made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on January 17th.
The plane flying from Phoenix, Arizona, was descending toward DFW Airport when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight AA-569 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on October 30th.
The plane flying from Los Angeles, California, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. All 105 people aboard remained unharmed.
