Why: The cabin depressurized en route, and the flight was diverted to Heathrow for a safe landing. Although passengers experienced shortness of breath and ear pain, oxygen masks never did deploy.

Spirit Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Myrtle Beach
Spirit Airlines flight NK-779 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on July 26th.The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport, Florida, was diverted after several passengers and crew members started feeling ill due to a strange odor on board.
The plane landed safely. Ten people were taken to hospital.

Hainan Airlines Plane Diverts to China due to Smoke Detector Indication
A Hainan Airlines flight HU-498 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Harbin Taiping International Airport, Harbin, China, on November 8.The Boeing 787-800 was en-route from Illinois, to Beijing, China, when the crew decided to divert to Harbin due to a smoke indication in passenger cabin.
The plane landed safely. The smoke indication later turned out to be false.
All passengers aboard remained unharmed.
IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad
IndiGo flight 6E-6373 made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad, India, on January 1st.The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Delhi, India, was descending toward Ahmedabad when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and cabin.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
