    Silver Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Naval Air Station Key West

    Silver Airways flight 82 made an emergency landing at the Naval Air Station Key West, Florida, on June 4th.

    The plane heading from Key West International Airport to Tampa, Florida, was diverted due to engine issues.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 28 passengers and 3 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Norwegian Airlines Flight Diverts to Baku Due to Medical Emergency

    Norwegian AirA Norwegian Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, Azerbaijan, on April 19.

    The plane was heading from Bangkok to Copenhagen when the pilot requested an emergency landing due to an ill passenger.

    The plane, carrying 288 passengers, was then diverted to Baku where it made a safe emergency landing.

    The passenger, identified as Alan Lasten, of Denmark, was diagnosed with heart failure. He was immediately shifted to Sabunchu hospital, however, his life could not be saved.

    Water Leak Floods the Aisles; Qantas Flight Returns to LAX

    QantasQantas Airways Flight 94 had to return and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport due to a water pipe leak, on July 2.

    The Airbus A380 was en route from Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia and was cruising at an altitude of about 31,000 feet when it sprung a leak, making the aisles flood with water.

    The pilot then decided to return to Los Angeles, where the plane made a safe emergency landing at about 2:40 a.m. No one was injured.

    According to a statement released by Qantas, “[The crew] did everything they could to help customers, including moving them to unaffected areas and providing spare blankets so they could stay dry.” The statement further said, “We’re also providing customers with hotel accommodation while the issue is being fixed by our engineers in Los Angeles. We apologise to customers for the inconvenience. There were no safety of flight concerns with the water leak, however the Captain decided to return to LA in the interests of passenger comfort. We are liaising with Airbus to understand what caused this fault.”

    Mexico Cessna Sport Fishing Hop has at least four fatalities

    On July 10, a Cessna 206 en route from Tamaulipas to Veracruz with seven aboard crashed in eastern Mexico has killed four people and injured two. The fall of the plane did not affect the residents of the town. No cause has been reported for the plane failure.

    The pilot reported engine failure at 22:18 to Veracruz ATC around the time the plane disappeared from radar..

    The wreckage is being recovered at Rancho Coralillos in the town of Alto Lucero. The remains of four people were found aboard the plane. (Number varies.) Two injured have been named as Sergio Rage Marrón and Jorge Arturo Velázquez Amorringa.

    The number of fatalities has been raised to five. The bodies inside the plane were burned, and difficult to identify.

    The injured were taken to a private hospital in Veracruz.

    The passengers had been going to a sport fishing competition.

    The Secretary of Civil Protection and the Municipal Civil Protection and a navy Mi17 helicopter responded to the scene.

    SpiceJet Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Delhi

    SpiceJet flight SG-136 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on January 6th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane was flying from Bangalore, India, when the crew declared an emergency due to indications of a hydraulic leak.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    FedEx Express Flight Diverts to Tokyo Narita Airport

    FedEx Express flight FX-49 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, on December 9th.

    The plane heading from Anchorage, Alaska, to Taipei, Taiwan, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
