    What: Delta Airlines Airbus A330-200 en route from Portland, OR to Amsterdam
    Where: Atlantic Ocean
    When: Jul 6th 2010
    Who: 236 passengers
    Why: While en route south of Greenland, the plane’s pressurization system developed problems, and the pilot decided to divert to Goose Bay, landing safely at Goose Bay about an hour before their scheduled landing in Amsterdam. A replacement jet (Boeing) was provided for the passengers so that 22 hours later, they arrived in Amsterdam safely. The original Airbus was relegated to maintenance and repaired.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Diverts to San Francisco After Flight Attendant Dies

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight HA-50 made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport, California, on January 24th.

    The plane heading from Hawaii to New York was diverted after a flight attendant suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The flight attendant was pronounced dead upon arrival.

    Shaheen Air Plane Crash-Lands at Lahore Airport; At Least 10 Injured

    Shaheen airShaheen Air flight NL-142 crash-landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Pakistan, on November 3.

    The plane was flying from Karachi when the pilot declared emergency due to faulty landing gear.

    Authorities said one of the tires of the plane burst upon landing, causing it to skid off the runway.

    At least 10 passengers were injured in the incident and were provided medical treatment.

    The aircraft’s fuselage sustained damage.

    The incident is being investigated.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Mechanical Issue

    United Airlines flight UA-4269 made an emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Ohio, on January 28th.

    The plane heading from Dayton, Ohio, to Newark, New Jersey, was diverted due to a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Envoy Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Philadelphia

    Envoy Air flight AA-4680 had to return and make an emergency landing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 14th.

    The Embraer ERJ-145 plane took off for Ottawa, Canada, but had to turn back after the crew received indication of an engine problem.

    The plane landed safely. All fifty people aboard remained unharmed.

    nextjetNextJet Airlines flight 2N-30 had to return and make an emergency landing in Sundsvall, Sweden, on November 14th.

    The plane took off for Gothenburg, Sweden, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.
