    Swiss International Airlines Flight Returns to Copenhagen due to Engine issue

    swissairSwiss International Airlines flight LX-1267 had to return for an emergency landing in Copenhagen, Denmark, on August 19th.

    The plane took off for Zurich, Switzerland, but had to turn back after its right engine began emitting flames and loud bangs.

    The crew shut down the engine before the plane landed back safely. No injuries were reported.

    AirAsia India Flight Rejects Takeoff due to Bird Strike

    AirAsia India flight I5-541 had to reject takeoff from Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, on July 15th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Delhi, India, when the crew rejected takeoff due to a bird strike.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Already Delayed Air India Express Flight Returns to Kerala

    Air India ExpressA Dubai-bound Air India Express flight IX 539 returned and made an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport, Kerala, India, at 10:30 p.m. on August 19.

    The flight was scheduled to take off at 4:30 p.m. local time, however, the passengers were told that it would be delayed due to a technical issue in the aircraft. The plane finally took off at 7:52 p.m. and just minutes after that, the decision for emergency landing was made following a failure in the electronics system.

    The plane landed uneventfully after shedding extra fuel. All 195 passengers and crew members remained unhurt.

    The passengers were booked in another flight for Wednesday morning.

    Home-built Experimental Aircraft Crashed in Fountain County: Pilot Killed

    experimental planeCharles Coffing of Covington, a 72-year-old man, was killed in a small plane crash in Fountain County, Indiana , near the Rob Roy covered bridge, north of Terre Haute.

    The accident happened at 1:30 p.m. on May 9.

    First-responders told that there was no sign of fire at the scene. Officials said that the plane was a home-built experimental aircraft approved by the FAA.

    One of the eye-witnesses said that the plane “came down nose first into the ground.”

    The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA are investigating the reasons of the crash.

    Marine Corps Crash Kills 16. Total Loss


    A Marine Corps C-130 departed from the Mid-South Base in Millington, Tennessee and crashed in Mississippi in Leflore County in Itta Bena just off Highway 82 in a soybean field. Reports say the plane exploded in mid-air. Bodies were found more than a mile from the crash site. The debris field covered a radius of five miles. Witnesses report seeing the plane spiraling down with one engine on fire. The way the debris was scattered on both sides of the highway leads investigators to believe the explosion happened prior to the crash. The plane was loaded with ammunition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    Pakistani Chartered Plane Lands in Lucknow for Re-fuelling

    A Pakistani aircraft en-route to Dhaka from Lahore made an emergency landing in Lucknow due to a fuel shortage.

    The aircraft, chartered by some unknown company safely landed at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in the afternoon of May 6.

    The pilot of the aircraft informed the Lucknow air traffic control about the fuel shortage while flying over Uttar Pradesh. The ATC granted permission for landing after obtaining necessary clearances from all concerned.

    The ATC officials said the aircraft was parked at a remote bay during the re-fuelling. All the passengers remained inside the plane.
