American Airlines flight 2448, heading towards Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, returned to the Los Angeles International Airport for emergency landing shortly after it took off on September 1.
The plane was diverted after the captain reported cracked windshield just moments after taking off.
The aircraft landed uneventfully sometime after 4 p.m. and everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Five crew members and 180 passengers were switched to another aircraft within an hour.
Cayman Airways flight KX-200 made an emergency landing in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, on September 14th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Tampa, Florida, but had to return shortly afterwards due to problems with one of the engines.
The plane landed uneventfully. All one hundred and twenty-eight people aboard remained unharmed.

Why: Two two-seat reconnaissance “Scout”choppers crashed during routine exercises at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, a few miles from Ranier Washington. Four individuals died in the event. Two were injured. It has not been released if the two injured were aboard, or if the choppers collided.
The remains were taken to Madigan Army Medical Center.
The debris field covered 300 meters. Military vehicles were securing the scene.
The Fort Rucker, Alabama Combat Readiness Center is coordinating the investigation, beginning with a six member team.
Flybe flight BE130 made an emergency landing at Belfast international airport, Northern Ireland, on the night of December 16.
The flight, en-route from Glasgow to Belfast City Airport, was diverted after one of its engines caught fire midair.
The plane landed uneventfully and all 76 passengers and 4 crew members remained unharmed.
The airline said in a statement, “Flybe can confirm that flight BE130 from Glasgow to Belfast City diverted to Belfast International Airport due a small engine fire, which was extinguished before landing…At no time was the safety and wellbeing of passengers compromised…Flybe operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers guidelines.”
The cause of engine fire is under investigation.
KLM Cityhopper flight KL-981 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on November 23rd.
The Embraer ERJ-190 plane took off for London City Airport, England, but had to return after the crew noticed smell of smoke in the cabin.
The plane landed back uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
Air Arabia flight G9824 had to return for an emergency landing at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, United Arab Emirates, on February 26th.
The plane took off for Peshawar, Pakistan, but had to return shortly afterwards after a Pakistani passenger suffered a cardiac arrest.
The plane landed safely. Authorities said the passenger died on his way to the hospital.
TUIFly Nordic flight 6B-554 had to return and make an emergency landing at Alghero-Fertilia Airport, Italy, on August 17.
The Boeing 737-800 en-route to Oslo, Norway, had to return after it ingested a number of birds into one of its engines.
The plane landed safely.
All 176 people aboard remained unhurt.
