    Two survive ROBINSON Crash in Utah

    On July 8, 2013 on 8:30 a.m, a 28-year-old pilot and his 24-year-old student were performing a training exercise in a ROBINSON R22 #N712U when it crashed and rolled downhill in the Tibble Fork Reservoir area of the American Fork Canyon.

    Both the pilot and student exited the plane on their own feet after just missing slamming into the mountain.

    The emergency response team responded to the pilot’s 911 call, searched the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and found the wreckage in under an hour after hiking half a mile uphill.

    The pilot told 911 that the helicopter was knocked from the sky by a gust of wind.

    United Airlines Flight Returns to Newark due to Flight Control Problems

    United Airlines flight UA-1990 had to return and make an emergency landing in Newark, New Jersey, on July 26th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Minneapolis, Minnesota, but had to turn back due to flight control problems.

    The plane landed back safely. All one hundred and fifty-four passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    Kit Plane Fatality in Pennsylvania

    What: small one seat experimental aircraft built and owned by Neal O. Bond
    Where: behind a home near the Pegasus Air Park on McIlhenny Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, about 40 miles north of Allentown PA
    When: August 30, 2009
    Who: the pilot
    Why: A witness says that the plane was coming down with an unusual attitude, and part of the tail came off. A second or two later a wing came off. The plane crashed behind the airport; the pilot had been ejected from the craft, a homebuilt one seat vehicle.

    The plane’s owner is treasurer of a radio-controlled vehicle club

    Southwest Airlines Flight Returns to Sacramento After Bird Strike

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-158 had to return and make an emergency landing in Sacramento, California, on November 29th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Seattle, Washington, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Pilot Killed in a Small Plane Crash in Highlands Ranch, Co

    HighlandA SONERAI II LT Experimental plane flying out of Centennial Airport crashed in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, at about 3pm on March 29.

    After the pilot suffered difficulty maintaining control, the plane went down in flames in a nose dive away from populated areas.

    The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the pilot was killed in the incident.

    The workers at a nearby car wash centre declared the pilot to be a hero as he apparently tried to steer the plane away from local shops and road, before it finally crashed.

    One Survivor in Ultralight Crash in Germany


    What: SkyWalker II ultralight training aircraft
    Where: Idar-Oberstein, Germany
    When: August 3, 2012
    Who: 2 aboard, 1 fatality
    Why: An 18 year old pilot crashed in an ultralight training aircraft in Idar-Oberstein. The pilot died on impact.

    His 23 year old passenger was injured seriously, and transported via medical helicopter to University Hospital Homburg.

    An investigation is underway. NO cause for the crash has yet been determined.
