Domodedovo Airport Grayout

Immediately following the crisis of the 27 year old Tupolev that blew up before taking off on January 1, 2011, is yet another problem for Russia’s suffering Aviation reputation.

The electricity to Domodedovo Airport failed twice this week, with the airport being without electricity for a half hour on January 2nd and avoiding a shut down thanks to the backup generator now being utilized.

In December Domodedovo was shut down for two days due to electrical problems from an ice storm, which is why the backup generator is now in place. 300,000 Moscow residents were reported to be out of power.

    Who: 7 crew, 100 passengers
    Why: After the right engine shut down, pilots decided to divert to Perm.

    The Globus flight was made on behalf of S7.

    Pilots made a safe landing in Perm with emergency services standing by. 107 were aboard. No injuries were reported.

    Passengers were provided an alternative flight to Moscow.

    Rossiya Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cracked Windshield

    Rossiya Airlines flight SU-6891 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on February 2nd.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Simferopol, Crimean Peninsula, to Saint Petersburg, Russia, was diverted due to a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Aeroflot Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cracked Windshield

    Aeroflot flight SU-1451 made an emergency landing in Novosibirsk, Russia, on September 6th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Kemerovo to Sheremetyevo International Airport, Russia, was diverted due to a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty-four passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    Alaska Airlines Flight Diverts to Kansas City

    Alaska Airlines flight AS-35 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Seattle, Washington, was diverted after an electrical burning odor was noticed in a lavatory.

    The plane landed safely. The airline said three crew members were taken to hospital.

    BA Flight Diverts to Siberia due to Smoking Smartphone

    britishairwaysBritish Airways flight BA18 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Irkutsk city of Siberia, Russia, on August 21.

    The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en-route from South Korea’s Incheon International Airport to London’s Heathrow airport, was diverted after a passengers’ smartphone began emitting smoke due to a ‘thermal runaway’.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 205 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    The plane was able to resume its journey after 3 hours.
