    China Eastern Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Nanchang

    China Eastern Airlines flight MU-5257 made an emergency landing in Nanchang, China, on December 4th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Qingdao to Guangzhou, China, was diverted after the passenger oxygen masks were automatically deployed, without any indication of a cabin pressure problem.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Embraer Elevator Issue Diverts to Louisville

    Where: Louisville
    When: Dec 6th 2009
    Who: 53 on board
    Why: After takeoff, the crew reported elevator problems. The flight diverted to Louisville and landed safely.

    Emergency Landing in Baku

    A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 en route from London to Singapore diverted to Baku in the first week of January 2013, after developing pressurization problems. The plane made a safe landing with no injuries.

    Four hundred sixty seven passengers were aboard the flight, and twenty-seven crew, none of whom were injured. Passengers were provided hotel accommodations pending a replacement aircraft from Singapore.

    A faulty door seal was reported to be the cause of the incident. The sound of the leaking air was audible and the flow of air was cold, an beyond the plane’s ability to manage. A replacement door was fitted before the plane flew out. Airbus is participating in the investigation by sending a team to Baku.

    Singapore airlines operates 19 A380’s.

    A photo tweeted by passenger Steve Murphy showed the oxygen masks deployed during the flight, after it began losing cabin pressure on January 6, 2013.

    Pirassununga Training Crash, Crew Lost

    On August 12, 2013, a Smoke Squadron A-29 Super Tucano crashed at around 9:10 a.m. near the Air Force Academy runway in Pirassununga, São Paulo.

    The pilot and co-pilot did not survive.

    The pilots, aviator Captain John and Captain Igor Silva Pivovar, were on a training mission. The Brazilian Air Force is investigating.

    Etihad Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Manchester

    Etihad Airways flight EY-22 made an emergency landing in Manchester, England, on January 14th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, but had to turn back due to a cabin pressurization problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    AtlasGlobal Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kuwait City

    AtlasGlobal flight KK-8850 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Kuwait City, Kuwait, on August 5th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Trabzon, Turkey, to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
