    Swift Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Tulsa

    Swift Air flight WQ-2228 made an emergency landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 8th.

    The Boeing 737-400 plane heading from Long Beach, California, to Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, was diverted due to a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    LATAM Airlines Plane Returns to Ecuador due to Lightning Strike

    LATAM Airlines flight XL-1730 had to return and make an emergency landing in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on February 27th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Madrid, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards after it was hit by lightning.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Newark, NJ

    United Airlines flight UA-14 made an emergency landing in Newark, New Jersey, on June 1st.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Honolulu, Hawaii, was descending toward Newark when the crew requested emergency assistance due to smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Air France Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Halifax Airport

    Air FranceAir France cargo plane, operating flight 6738, had to make an emergency landing at Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia, Canada, on April 14.

    The Boeing 777 plane, heading from Paris to Chicago, was forced to land in emergency after one of its two engines lost power.

    The plane landed uneventfully at around 9:35 p.m.

    There were 3 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The incident is being investigated.

    What: Royal Air Maroc Boeing 767-30 en route from Casablanca (Morocco) to New York John F. Kennedy Airport
    Where: JFK
    When: Apr 20th 2009
    Why: Wake turbulence was such that the landing was hard. Complaints about the hard landing prompted plane inspection which turned up wrinkles found in the fuselage. The plane was grounded for repairs and further inspection.

    What: Air Canada Boeing 767-300 en route from Calgary to Kahului
    Where: Vancouver
    When: Jan 22nd 2010
    Why: While en route, the crew detected a hydraulics leak. The flight made an emergency landing in Vancouver.
