    What: Air Transat/ Boeing 737-800, en route from Havana Cuba to Montreal,QC Canada
    Where: Florida
    When: Jan 17th 2011
    Who: 167 aboard
    Why: While en route south of Miami, the plane encountered turbulence. The seat belt sign was on, and cabin crew were seated. The flight experienced turbulents for about two minutes and the plane dropped 500 feet before stabilizing. There were no injuries. The flight continued on to Montreal.

    Emergency Landing at NSC Bose International airport

    After experiencing an engine problem on Dec 17, 2012, a chartered Kazakistan plane en route from Bangkok to Lucknow made an emergency landing at NSC Bose International airport.

    There were 23 aboard, 17 of whom passengers. No injuries were reported.

    The left engine stalled for unknown reason. The flight made a safe landing at 10:15 with emergency services on standby.

    Merpati Lands Sans 1 Engine


    What: Merpati Nusantara Fokker 100 en route from from Sampit to Surabaya
    Where: Sampit
    When: Feb 12th 2011
    Why: Not long after takeoff from Sampit, an engine developed problems and had to be shut down.

    The flight landed safely at Sampit. No injuries reported.

    United Airlines Plane Returns to Illinois due to Hydraulic Problems

    United AirlinesUnited Airlines flight UA-881 had to return and make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on December 8.

    The Boeing 747-400, flying towards Tokyo Narita, Japan, had to return due to hydraulic problems.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Delta Emergency Landing in Indianapolis

    What: Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Minneapolis to Atlanta
    Where: Indianapolis
    When: Jan 15th 2010 8:00 am
    Who: 160 people on board
    Why: While en route, the plane indicated that it had developed an oil leak. Pilots diverted to Indianapolis where it made a safe landing.

    Maintenance is looking for the cause of the indicator. The engine did not fail. If the engine is “recertified” by maintenance, passengers will continue on that plane; if not, alternative transport will be provided.

    Blue Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Henri Coanda International Airport

    Blue Air flight 0B-9247 made an emergency landing at Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on June 29th.

    The Boeing 737-400 plane took off for Palma de Mallorca Airport, Spain, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
