Why: The plane had successfully taken off from Madrid, then received an alert and returned to Madrid where the crew made a safe landing.
Systems were repaired and the flight resumed an hour and a half later.
Lufthansa flight 1406 had to make an emergency landing in Belgrade, Serbia, on December 5.
The plane was flying from Frankfurt, Germany, when a Jordanian-American passenger started fumbling with the controls of an emergency exit door. According to an airline spokesperson, “A passenger got up and tried to do something at the door, but was stopped by crew members and other passengers…The passenger was then restrained for the remainder of the flight in his seat.”
The plane landed safely. The man was handed over to the authorities.
Kalitta Air flight K4-248 made an emergency landing in Leipzig, Germany, on June 14th.
The Boeing 747-400 plane flying from Delhi, India, was on final approach to Leipzig when the crew reported a flaps problem and went around.
The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach.

China Southern Airlines flight CZ303 was forced to divert and make an emergency landing at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Netherlands, on the afternoon of August 3.
The Boeing Dreamliner, heading from Guangzhou, China, to Heathrow Airport, London, had to be diverted after it ran out of fuel mid-air.
The plane, with a capacity of boarding 335 passengers, landed uneventfully.
No injuries were reported.

The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Miami, Florida, to Milan-Malpensa Airport, Italy, was diverted after the crew noticed multiple system failures.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Yakutia Airlines flight R3-772 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Rostov-on-Don Airport, Russia, on July 22nd.
The Boeing 737-800 flying from Simferopol, Ukraine, to Moscow, Russia, had to divert due to smoke on board.
The plane landed safely.
All 170 people aboard remained safe.
