What: Westjet Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Vancouver to Los Angeles

Why: After an averted landing, the pilot was positioning to circle for a second approach (revectoring) and the flight crew received a TCAS warning to climb.
The Cessna 182 was on its same altitude. The Boeing climbed and successfully achieved lateral separation.

What: Centurion Cargo McDonnell Douglas MD-11F en route from Miami International Airport to Carrasco International Airport, Uruguai

Who: 5 crew members
Why: The cargo plane, a weekly visitor to this airport, suffered a “minor” accident when the main wheel landing gear ruptured on landing. None of the 5 member crew was hurt. The plane is currently parked in the airport taxiway pending a damage assessment. Local speculation refers to fatigue to some element of the landing gear but the investigation is pending.
Swift Air flight WQ-2228 made an emergency landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 8th.
The Boeing 737-400 plane heading from Long Beach, California, to Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, was diverted due to a cargo smoke indication.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-700 en route from Portland to Chicago
Where: South Bend
When: July 22 2011
Who: 57 passengers
Why: Some time after taking off from Portland, the flight developed hydraulic issues. The pilots diverted to South bend, and made a safe landing.
Passengers were provided transport to Chicago via bus.
SEATTLE, Nov. 24, 2010 / — Boeing and Brussels-based Jetairfly today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first Next-Generation 737-800 with the new Boeing Sky Interior. Jetairfly, part of TUI Travel PLC, the largest tourism group in London, is the first European-based airline to operate a 737 with the new passenger-inspired interior.

The 737 Boeing Sky Interior features new, modern-sculpted sidewalls and window reveals, larger stow bins and more headroom around the aisle seats. Other features include a quieter cabin, intuitive placement of switches and call buttons, improved sound quality and different interior lighting schemes.
“We congratulate Jetairfly on the delivery of its first 737-800 with the new Boeing Sky Interior,” said Marlin Dailey, vice president of Sales & Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Jetairfly’s incorporation of the Boeing Sky Interior and its passenger-pleasing features will reinforce its position as Belgium’s leading holiday airline.”

The Boeing Sky Interior is the latest in a series of improvements to the airplane. Since the Next-Generation 737 was introduced in 1997, customers have taken advantage of continuous improvements to this best-selling airplane that have made it even more efficient, reliable and passenger-friendly. Next to come will be a package of performance improvements that will reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 2 percent – making the airplane a full 7 percent more efficient than the first Next-Generation 737 delivered. The performance improvements to the airframe and engine will be in service by early 2012.
To date, 50 customers have ordered the new interior for 1,386 airplanes.

What: United Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from Los Angeles ,CA to Narita
Where: Los Angeles
When: Oct 5th, 2009
Why: About twenty minutes after takeoff, the plane experienced a hydraulics leak. The flight crew decided to return to LAX, where it landed safely at 2:21 p.m.
Maintenance crews are inspecting the plane.
A Thomson Airways flight had to make an emergency landing at the Lajes airport in Portugal, at about 4:13 a.m. Lisbon time on August 5.
The twin-engine aircraft Boeing 787-800 aircraft was on its way from Dominican Republic to Manchester, UK when the crew had to shut down its right hand engine due to an indication of low oil pressure.
The plane was then diverted towards Lajes airport where it made a safe emergency landing. All 288 passengers remained safe.
The passengers were provided a replacement aircraft which took them to their destination.
