Warrant Issued for Kingfisher Owner


Kingfisher bounced checks of 105 million rupees (£1.25m) to settle user fees at Hyderabad International Airport.

Then the airline failed to appear in court, leading the local sessions court to issue an arrest warrant for Vijay Mallya, owner of Kingfisher Airline.

Staff of Kingfisher Airline has not been paid for months. Debts are said to total $2.49bn, with $1.1bn of bank debt.

India’s Aviation regulator grounded the Kingfisher fleet for the last two weeks and is threatening to cancel its license.

    Airbus Launches E-Fan Electric Trainer Airplane

    ElectricThe Airbus Group launched their two-seater, E-Fan electric trainer airplane in France last month.

    The all-electric all-composite experimental plane designed specifically as a demonstrator for the small electric aircraft technology made its first public flight in Bordeaux, France, during the Airbus’ E-Aircraft Day.

    The aircraft is comparatively quieter than the non-electric planes and has zero carbon dioxide emissions during flight. Moreover, it lasts an hour for training flights and half an hour for manoeuvres.

    According to Airbus, the E-Fan electric trainer plane will be used as a model for designing, building and selling two improved versions through their subsidiary company, VoltAir.

    Smoke From Airbus in Emergency Jammu Landing

    What: IndiGo Airbus A320-200 en route from New Delhi to Jammu
    Where: Jammu
    When: Jun 13, 2012 9 am
    Who: 130 passengers
    Why: The Indigo flight arrived in Jammu with smoke coming out of an engine. The flight was given priority to make an emergency landing. There were no injuries reported. Passengers were evacuated promptly from the plane.

    The grounded plane A320 is undergoing examination. On Flight Aware, the return status is reported as scheduled/delayed, with the departure delayed from 11:10AM to 06:55PM IST
