    Why: After the pilot reported an engine problem, he attempted to land at a Boynton Beach industrial park. Witnesses said the helicopter”did not have full power.”

    The rear rotor assembly was cutoff at mid-shaft. The news organization calls this incident a “hard landing”

    Air India Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Jaipur

    Air India flight AI-436 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Jaipur, India, on February 6th.

    The plane flying from Bhopal to Delhi, India, was diverted due to poor weather conditions in Delhi. However, as the plane approached Jaipur, the crew requested a priority landing reporting low fuel indications.

    The plane landed safely. All 122 passengers and 7 crew members remained unharmed.

    Jet Blue Emergency Landing in Fort Lauderdale

    What: Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190 en route from Fort Lauderdale to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
    Where: Fort Lauderdale
    When: Aug 29th 2011
    Why: After takeoff, the plane lost cabin pressure.

    Although they did not declare emergency, the crew did alert ATC, and descended to a safe altitude before returning to the Fort Lauderdale airport.

    Passengers were provided an alternative flight with an alternative jet flown in.

    American Eagle Flight Returned to LaGuardia for Emergency Landing

    American eagleAmerican Eagle Flight 3340 returned to New York’s LaGuardia Airport for emergency landing on July 30.

    The airline maintained that, the flight, which was on its way to Knoxville, Tennessee, returned shortly after takeoff due to a mechanical issue. According to the FAA officials, the plane landed in emergency after smoke was detected in the bathroom.

    The Embraer 135 aircraft landed safely at about 3 p.m. All 44 passengers and 3 crew members aboard remained unhurt.

    The runway remained close for some time.

    Finnair Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Lightning Strike

    imagesFinnair flight AY-165 had to return and make an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on April 8th.

    The plane took off for to Saint Petersburg, Russia, but had to turn back after a lightning strike caused some electrical problems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Air New Zealand Plane makes Safe Landing in Auckland after Bird Strike

    Air New ZealandAir New Zealand flight NZ-514 made a safe emergency landing at Auckland Airport, New Zealand, on August 12.

    The Airbus A320-200 flying from Christchurch International Airport, New Zealand, was about to land when a bird impacted it.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.
