Why: Near the border of Queensland and New South Wales, the helicopter struck powerlines and crashed. The area is affected by flooding and difficult to access by emergency services but Queensland Fire and Rescue crews (Four fire units, comprising 16 firefighters) are en route to the location at t Donovans Road, south of the Barwon Highway. The 65 year old pilot has been reported as a fatality.

What: single-engine Cessna 182 en route to Adelanto
Where: Summit Valley Road and Maple Avenue, San Bernardino County

Why: The plane lost power while en route and made an emergency landing aiming for a dirt road but ended up hitting a car, and butting up to an empty house. Gazelle Helicopter Crashes in the UK
What: ex-military Gazelle helicopter en route from Stratford-upon-Avon to Yeovilton in Somerset
Where: in open grassland about 800-900 feet high – one of the highest spots in Gloucestershire, crashed in a field at a farm in Winchcombe, near Cheltenham.

What: Blue and white homebuilt plane (described as a small homemade plane with a tube-like frame, cloth covering and a small fiberglass cockpit) en route from the Salt Lake County area.
Where: Crashed into side of the Oquirrh Mountains near West Canyon a few miles north of Cedar Fort, a small town west of Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs off state Route 73.
When: Around 11:00 a.m. 10-28-2008
Who: pilot and passenger, both fatalities.
Why: The crash was witnessed by several onlookers who said the engine died, and the plane began dropping in a spin. and the pilot couldn’t pull the plane’s nose up. (Some witnesses said the plane was doing aerobic stunts; others described a loss of control. The wreckage was on fire when officials arrived.
