    Denver Emergency Landing

    Republic Flight 1557, operated as Frontier Airlines lost pressure and dropped from 24,200 to 28,600 feet over Aspen, and returned to Denver where it made an emergency landing.

    The cabin did not depressurize and the oxygen masks did not descend, but the crew descended to deal with the cabin pressure issue.

    The ERJ-190 made a safe landing with all of the 98 passengers and 4 crew uninjured.

    Passengers were provided alternative flights from Denver to San Diego.

    Swiss Avro Plane Rejects Takeoff in Switzerland due to Sparking Engine

    swiss avroSwiss Avro flight LX-2808 had to reject takeoff at Zurich Airport, Zurich, Switzerland, on March 10.

    The Airbus RJ-100 was about to take off for Geneva, Switzerland, when the control tower reported sparks coming from the left hand engine, causing the plane to return to the apron.

    All passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Chicago

    United Airlines flight UA-5622 made an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, on January 1st.

    The plane flying from Aspen, Colorado, was descending toward Chicago when the crew requested assistance due to a gear problem.

    The plane performed a low approach for gear inspection and subsequently landed safely.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Virgin Australia Flight Diverts due to Bomb Threat

    A Virgin Australia plane had to make an emergency landing at Brisbane International Airport in Queensland, Australia, on February 17.

    The plane was heading from Sydney International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport, California, when the airline received a bomb threat and decided to divert it for an emergency landing.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    The authorities later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.
