Delta Airlines flight DL-2302 experienced severe turbulence near Denver, Colorado, on March 23rd.
The Boeing 757-200 plane was heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Vail, Colorado, when it was hit by turbulence that injured two flight attendants.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
A small plane made an emergency landing on Eastbound Interstate 8 near Stanfield, Arizona, at around 6:27 p.m. on November 11.
According to Tim Gaffney, director of administration for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the FAA informed the authorities about a small aircraft that sent a mayday signal and was descending.
The pilot, his wife and 10-year-old daughter remained uninjured.
The eastbound lanes were closed for traffic immediately after the incident but were re-opened at around 9:45 p.m.
The FAA will investigate.
Copa becomes first Latin America carrier to fly with the new cutting-edge interior

The Boeing Sky Interior introduces new cove lighting and curving architecture that create a distinctive entry way. Passengers will enjoy a more open cabin and a soft blue sky overhead simulated by light-emitting diode (LED) lighting. The new interior also brings new, modern, sculpted sidewalls and window reveals to draw passengers’ eyes to the view outside the window as well as larger stowage bins allowing passengers the ability to store their luggage closer to their seats.
The 737 Boeing Sky Interior is the latest in a series of enhancements designed to improve the Next-Generation 737 for both airlines and passengers. The next to come will be a package of performance improvements that will reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 2 percent – making the airplane a full 7 percent more efficient than the first Next-Generation 737s delivered. The performance improvements to the airframe and engine are in certification test, and will be phased into production between mid-2011 and early 2012.
Lion Air flight JT-791 made an emergency landing in Makassar, Indonesia, on September 22nd.
The Boeing 737-900 plane was flying from Ambon, Indonesia, when the crew reported issues with its right hand engine.
The plane continued for a safe landing. There were 211 passengers and 7 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
Regarding the Gol jet that collided over the Amazon rain forest with an Embraer Legacy 600 executive jet owned by ExcelAire Service Inc. of New York: The GOL InvestigatIon has determined that the pilots of a New York-based executive jet had placed the transponder and collision avoidance system on standby before colliding with the Boeing 737 operated by GOL Linhaus Aereas Inteligentes SA on Sept. 29, 2006.
The Legacy landed safely but everyone on the GOL jet died.
Flight controllers failed to alert pilots that they were on a collision course and also did not notice the transponder was off.
The on duty flight controllers and the two U.S. pilots – Joseph Lepore and Jan Paladino have been indicted. They could get up to three years in prison.The pilots deny turning off the transponder. They claim to have been flying at the altitude designated by the air controllers.
ExcelAire says that “the transponder issue is a distraction from the true cause of the accident, which is an air traffic control system that put two airplanes on a collision course for about an hour.”
Aeromexico flight AM-448 suffered a loss of cabin pressure on the way to Guadalajara, Mexico, on August 22nd.
The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Cancun, Mexico. The passenger oxygen masks were deployed.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
It is believed that some passengers needed medical attention after landing.

What: United Boeing 777-200 en route from San Francisco to London
Where: San Francisco
When: Apr 12th 2012
Who: 195 passengers aboard
Why: After taking off from San Francisco, the left side of the United Boeing 777 was struck by lightning. Passengers described the flash of light and the big bank. Oxygen masks deployed. No one was injured. Weather suspended other flights taking off from that airport until the storm blew through.
Pilots informed ATC, and dumped fuel before returning to land safely. The plane remained on the runway as officials inspected the aircraft. Passengers were put up in local hotels and scheduled to take an alternate flight Friday afternoon.
