    KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Aruba

    KLMKLM flight KL-765 made an emergency landing in Aruba on May 16.

    The plane was heading from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Aruba when the crew reported a suspected fuel leak on the left side.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane landed safely and emergency services confirmed a fuel leakage from its left engine. The engine was then shut down before it taxied to apron.

    All 203 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Hawaiian Airlines Jet Returns to LAX

    Hawaiian AirlinesHawaiian Airlines flight HA3 had to return and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, California, on May 18.

    According to an airline spokesperson, the plane was en-route to Honolulu when the crew noticed a cockpit indicator light that showed an open fuel jettison valve. The captain then declared an emergency and turned back towards LAX.

    The A330 plane landed uneventfully. There were 290 passengers and 10 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    On landing, it was found that the valve was closed.

    The Boeing 737-800 was heading to London when it lost cabin pressure and had to turn back for an emergency landing.

    The airline accommodated 49 passengers in another flight.

    Alaska Airlines Jet Makes Hard Landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

    AlaskaAlaska Airlines flight 601 made a hard landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Washington, on May 18.

    The Boeing 737, coming from Las Vegas, Nevada, was about to land at Sea-Tac Airport when the crew of another plane that was lined up behind it reported fire, sparks and smoke from its left main landing gear.

    Landing was delayed until emergency services arrived at the scene. The airline confirmed that two left tires of the aircraft blew upon landing, erupting sparks.

    All 173 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    A mobile stairway was brought at the scene to safely disembark passengers and crew.

    The incident is being investigated.

    The flight was heading from Nice to Heathrow when the crew requested an emergency landing due to a landing gear malfunction.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “On approach to Aberdeen, the captain of flight T3 588 from Durham Tees Valley received a cockpit warning indication relating to the smoke detector system in the toilet… The Saab 2000 aircraft with 26 passengers and four crew landed safely at 9.28pm… After landing, passengers disembarked via the aircraft steps on the runway as the airport fire service inspected the aircraft.”

    No one was injured in the incident.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in North Carolina

    Authorities said the plane, flying from San Francisco to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, North Carolina, was operating on one engine when it landed safely at Piedmont Triad Airport.

    None of the 128 passengers aboard was harmed.

    A SkyWest/United Express Canadair CRJ made a belly landing at Los Angeles International Airport with the left main gear not fully extended. None of the 43 aboard reported injury. The video below shows sparks on landing, with the commentators realizing on air there were not 4 aboard but a full plane. The video has been cut so that you do not see the landing initially, but eventually they show the friction of the landing. News of the incident was released without the flight number, origin or destination.


    The incident occurred at 8:23 a.m.

    The CRJ is a regional commuter. Passengers were able to disembark normally, without slides, and were bussed to the terminal. Emergency services were standing by.

    SAS Flight Diverts to Scotland due to Cabin Pressure Issues

    SASScandinavian Airlines System (SAS) flight SK 4604 landed at Aberdeen International Airport, Scotland under emergency conditions on the afternoon of May 10.

    Boeing 737-883 was en-route from Dublin, Ireland to Oslo, Norway but had to divert to Aberdeen due to issues with cabin pressure.

    The plane, carrying around 169 passengers and 6 crew members, landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    The passengers were accommodated in another plane.

    BBMF Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing at RAF Coningsby

    RAFThe Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) plane made an emergency landing at Royal Air Force Coningsby, near Horncastle, England on May 7.

    The aircraft was on a practice flight for the Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) celebrations, to be held on May 10, when it caught fire and had to be landed in emergency.

    None of the crew members was injured and the fire was extinguished after landing.

    Due to the incident, the aircraft would not join the celebrations, confirmed the authorities.

    Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-063 landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India under emergency conditions on May 7.

    The plane was en-route from Bangkok to Delhi when the pilot fell sick and the co-pilot had to take over the controls. According to an airline spokesperson, “The Captain was being looked after by a Doctor that was traveling as a passenger on board the flight. The first officer was assisted by another Jet Airways Captain that was positioning as a passenger from Bangkok to Delhi.”

    A small plane had to make an emergency landing at the corner of Loop 820 and Trinity Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 3.

    The plane was returning from Globe Life Park, Arlington, when it lost oil pressure, forcing the pilot to land in emergency.

    The plane landed safely and the pilot remained unhurt.

    It is believed that the single-engine plane was at Globe Life Park to pull a Geico Insurance banner.
