    Plane Carrying China’s Richest Man Makes Emergency Landing in India

    A plane, carrying China’s richest man Wang Jianlin, made an emergency landing at Agartala airport, India, on June 11.

    The head of Dalian Wanda group, Wang Jianli and 8 other people were aboard the flight that was en-route from New Delhi, India to Beijing, China. Authorities said the Gulfstream G650 jet had to make an emergency landing due to a technical snag in its engines.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The aircraft was grounded while Jianlin and other passengers were transported to a hotel.

    United Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cockpit Fire

    United ExpressCommutAir Flight 4776, operating as United Express, made an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, on June 5.

    The Dash 8 turboprop commuter jet, en-route from Newark Liberty International Airport to Bradley, declared emergency on approach after a small fire broke out in the cockpit.

    Authorities said the crew had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before the plane landed safely. All 36 passengers and 3 crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline said in a statement, “We are very thankful for the quick response of our flight crew to ensure the safety of our passengers — the aircraft has been removed from service and will undergo a thorough maintenance evaluation.”

    The cause of fire is being investigated.

    Border Protection Chopper Fired-on Near Texas-Mexico Border

    A U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter had to make an emergency landing in La Bota Ranch, Laredo, Texas, on June 5.

    According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson, “The helicopter was impacted by gunfire, hitting the side of the aircraft and the rotor blade… The pilot was able to make a safe landing, there were no injuries.”

    The FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, USCBP, Laredo Police Department and Texas Rangers responded to the area.

    The incident is being investigated.

    The Boeing 767 aircraft was en-route from Ishigaki Island to Haneda airport, Tokyo, when the pilot reported haze in the cockpit and requested an emergency landing.

    The plane landed uneventfully. None of the 101 passengers and 8 crew members was injured.
