    Southwest Airlines flight WN-3442 suffered multiple bird strikes near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, on November 5th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-700 plane flying from Kansas City, Missouri, was on approach to Reagan National Airport.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Everglades Holiday Park

    helicopterA helicopter landed in emergency on a levee in Everglades Holiday Park, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on the afternoon of September 13.

    The helicopter was carrying the pilot and a passenger at the time of incident. According to the officials, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing after he lost contact with the control tower.

    The spokesperson for Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, Mike Jachles, confirmed that none of the 2 persons aboard were injured.

    Why: While en route from Sacramento, the Boeing 737 was struck by lightning. The plane landed safely at Bob Hope Airport, and was examined for damage from the lightning strike.

    Emergency Diversion Delays Allegiant Bellingham-Paine Field-Bellingham-San Diego

    What: Allegiant Air MD-80 en route from Bellingham to San Diego
    Where: Paine Field Airport
    When: Mar 26th 2012
    Who: 160 passengers (155/5)
    Why: The flight was en route when the plane developed hydraulic systems problems.

    Pilots diverted to Snohomish County Airport where they made a safe landing with a total of thirty rescue personnel on scene: Two foam trucks and a rescue truck, seven personnel, three engines, a ladder truck, and two medic units responded.

    A replacement jet was provided, which took off from Bellingham. Passengers were transported from Snohomish County Airport back to Bellingham for the replacement flight which proceeded without error.

    A little bit of one step forward, one step back action, but apparently the passengers managed to get to San Diego seven hours later.

    Philippine Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Haneda Airport

    Philippine Airlines flight PR-116 made an emergency landing at Haneda Airport, Japan, on August 2nd.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Manila, Philippines, to Vancouver, Canada, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
