Why: On approach to Rio, a passenger began feeling unwell. On debarking, she passed out in the jet bridge. By the time the ambulance arrived 25 minutes later, she was pronounced dead at the scene.Doctors say that she suffered “economy class syndrome”, actually known as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), an event which creates blood clots in the lower veins of the legs.
A substantial amount of money and several credit cards disappeared the passenger’s purse, according to relatives.

AA Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Landing Gear Issue
American Airlines flight AA-574 made an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida, on September 19th.The Airbus A320-200 was flying from Phoenix, Arizona, when the crew reported a landing gear issue and declared an emergency.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 146 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

SriLankan Airlines Plane Stops at Runway in India after Hydraulic Problem
SriLankan Airlines flight UL-125 had to stop at runway 25 of Chennai International Airport, India, on September 10.The Airbus A330-200, en-route from Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Chennai, had to be stopped before reaching the apron due to over-heated hydraulic system.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All 114 people aboard remained unhurt.

Why: The hard landing of Mahan flight W5-613 blew out the nose wheel tires, causing the flight to skid off the runway on collapsed nose gear.Slides were used to evacuate the flight, injuring eleven in the process, all of whom initially went to the hospital. Three were retained with serious injuries.
Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaii was among the injured.
