    Cessna Crashes Fence in Chile, 3 Aboard


    On Feb 25, 2013, in Puella, Puerto Varas Chile, a Cessna 152 struck a fence and crashed. Three aboard survived.

    The plane was taking off from a ski slope,but did not sustain adequate altitude, and struck a fence.

    The pilot was Alfonso Ruiz Tagle.

    Carabineros de la Tenencia Casa Pangue was apparently not notified and responded to the scene in the afternoon. The accident is under investigation.

    American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Indiana

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight 1277 had to make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, at around 9:15 P.M. on July 28.

    The plane was heading from O’Hare International Airport, Illinois, to Charlotte, North Carolina, when the pilot declared emergency due to “indication of a mechanical issue.”

    The plane landed safely and was cleared to resume the flight after inspection.  

    All passengers and crew members remained unhurt. Charles Tillman, former Chicago Bears player, was also aboard at the time.

    Cessna and Liberty Collide over Australia


    What: Cessna 152 owned by Basair Aviation College
    a single-engine Liberty owned by Sydney Flight Training Centre
    Where: Flame Tree Street, Casula, in Sydney’s southwest
    When: 11.30am (AEST) on Thursday
    Who: Two fatalities: a woman instructor and her female student pilot.
    On the Liberty, the 89-year-old male instructor and a 25-year-old male student pilot were unhurt
    Why: Plane clipped another light aircraft in mid-air. One plane managed to make it to Bankstown Airport. The other plane landed in a yard, destroying the back of the house and a pergola.

    The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating.

    2 People, Dog Killed in Small Plane Crash in California

    A small plane crashed in Santee, San Diego County, California, on February 6th.

    The Cessna 182 Skylane plane, carrying two people and a pair of dogs, went down shortly after taking off from the Gillespie Field Airport.

    Both people and one of the dogs aboard the plane were killed in the crash.

    Authorities found the wreckage in an industrial area adjacent to Gillespie Field Airport.

    Rotorcraft Leasing Loses Bell Helicopter off Oil Rig

    What: Rotorcraft Leasing Co BELL 206L-1 Helicopter en route from oil rig to oil rig
    Where: 75 miles southeast of Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico, listed as “high island Texas”
    When: Monday, November 2nd, 2009
    Who: 2
    Why: After crashing, the helicopter’s floats were deployed; and a boat was involved in the rescue. Both men were hospitalized with injuries.

    It is a good thing there were witnesses since beacon gear protection has been diminished.

    Cessna Crashes in Egelsbach

    What: Asia Today Ltd. Cessna 750 Citation X en route from Linz Airport to Egelsbach
    Where: Egelsbach Airport Germany
    When: March 1, 2012
    Who: 4 fatalities
    Why: The flight was approaching the runway when it crashed in the woods and started a fire. Reports conflict whether there were three or six aboard. Three bodies were found initially and a fourth was found later. There were no survivors. Local police say there was heavy fog.
