    Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Pittsburgh

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 434 had to make an emergency landing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, just after 1 p.m. on November 29.

    According to an airline statement, “Delta flight 434, a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 169 passengers onboard, from New York-JFK to San Francisco diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport when the crew detected a smoky odor in the vicinity of the aft galley. Out of an abundance of caution, the captain elected to divert the flight.”

    The plane landed uneventfully and none of the passengers and crew members was hurt.

    Authorities said the plane was examined after which, it was able to take off again at 2:30 p.m.

    The cause of smoky odor is not known at the moment.

    Beechcraft Bonanza in KY Crash


    What: Air Ops LLC Beechcraft Bonanza registered to TFB Aviation LLC of Mingo, Iowa. The air taxi was flying en route from from Midway Airport in Chicago when the pilot experienced problems
    Where: near the Tom Sawyer State Park and the Indian Springs Golf Club, near Louisville KY
    When: Thursday Morning Dec 18
    Who: Pilot Evan Freeman, a 25-year-old pilot from Louisville was killed in the crash
    Why: The crash is under investigation

    Pakistan Air Force Plane Crashed Near Karachi; Pilot Killed

    A Pakistan Air Force plane crashed during a routine training flight near Karachi, Pakistan, late on November 21.

    According to PAF spokesperson Air Commodore Tariq Mehmood, “Squadron leader Tanveer Ahmed embraced martyrdom when a Miraj aircraft crashed near Gadap Town around 30 nautical miles from Karachi.”

    Witnesses reported that the plane caught fire before it went down.

    The cause of crash is under investigation.

    AA Plane Returns to Saint Louis after Bird Strike

    american airlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-2444 had to return and make an emergency landing in Saint Louis, Missouri, on November 19th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Los Angeles, California, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    Chinese Court Jailed the Pilot Over Deadly Henan Airlines Plane Crash

    A Chinese court has sentenced the pilot of the Henan Airlines flight which crashed in Yichun, Heilongjiang province of China in 2010, killing 44 people.

    It is believed that the ill-fated Embraer E-190 plane crashed in heavy fog after the main pilot, Qi Quanjun, decided to land without being able to see the runway properly. There were 91 passengers aboard the plane, around half of which were government officials. Quanjun survived the accident with serious facial injuries.

    After more than 4 years, a local Chinese court, on December 19, has ordered to jail the pilot for 3 years on the grounds of ‘causing a major airline accident’ and not properly evacuating the passengers.

    Where: rural area south of Selmer Tennessee near U.S. Highway 45
    When: Thursday night.
    Who: Leroy Hopkins, the pilot was the only person aboard. Business owner from Corinth MS.
    Why: The cause has not been determined.
