Insel Air flight 7I-512 made an emergency landing in Sint Maarten, on June 13th.
The plane took off for Curacao but had to turn back due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: Taking off from Deland Municipal-Sidney H. Taylor Field Airport, the small kit plane developed engine problems and crashed into a Publix market in the Northgate Shopping Center on International Speedway Boulevard on Monday. The pilot and passenger are in critical condition. Brendan Beitler, a Stetson University student is in stable condition. Cordova and Morris Beitler were also injured.
A fire occurred when the fuel tanks burst. Three individuals in the store were injured. The store has been closed, and 175 employees are working at other Publix. The city has issued a demolition permit.
The plane is made of composite material and was amateur-built in 2002.
The pilot was Kim Presbrey, an attorney from Chicago who is in the intensive care unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Presbry is managing partner of Presbrey & Associates Thomas Rhoades from Illinois was the passenger.
What remains of the melted aircraft has been loaded on a flatbed trailer.

Cathay Pacific flight CX255 had to make an emergency landing in Chongqing, China, on April 23rd.
The plane, flying from Hong Kong, China, to London, United Kingdom, was diverted after the oil pressure in one of the engines dropped.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 248 passengers remained safe.

American Airlines flight AA-5772 made a safe landing after suffering a bird strike near McAllen Miller International Airport, Texas, on October 20th.
The plane flying from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, was on final approach to McAllen Miller International Airport when a bird hit it.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Single-Engine Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Carlyss, Louisiana
A single-engine Piper PA-28 Cherokee, on its way from Chennault to Orange, made an emergency landing on Highway 108 in Carlyss, Louisiana, on the evening of August 8.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the pilot, Richard Turkel of Orange, Texas, was the only person aboard. He escaped with only minor injuries.
The authorities also confirmed that Turkel, who works for the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was the registered owner of the plane, had to make the emergency landing because the engine of his plane failed during flight.
Although no one was hurt on ground, a power line was clipped by the plane on the way down.
Highway 108, west of Citgo, remained closed for traffic for some time in the evening of August 8.

JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Fort Lauderdale
JetBlue flight B6-1701 made an emergency landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on October 18th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was on final approach to Fort Lauderdale when the crew went around due to an unsafe gear.
The plane subsequently landed safely and was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
