    LAN Airlines Flight Returns to Los Angeles due to Smokey Cabin

    LAN airlinesLAN Airlines flight 601 returned and made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, California, on the afternoon of June 21.

    The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en-route to Lima, Peru had to return after smoke was noticed in the cabin. Authorities said the smoke was due to a defective food warmer in the kitchen.

    The plane, carrying around 230 passengers and 17 crew members, landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    The passengers were accommodated in another flight next day.

    Hop Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brussels

    hopHop Airlines flight A5-4318 had to make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on November 28th.

    The plane was flying from Lyon, France, when it experienced issues with the flaps.

    The plane landed uneventfully at a higher than normal speed. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Korean Air Flight Returns to Seoul After Hydraulic Failure

    Korean Air flight KE-137 had to return for an emergency landing in Seoul, South Korea, on February 28th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Nadi, Fiji, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 115 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Denver to Toronto Returns after “pop” and smoke

    Who: 68 passenger
    Why: While climbing out of Denver, passengers and crew smelled smoke in the cabin.

    A newscast said that passengers heard a “pop” before the pilots turned around and returned to the Denver airport.

    They made a safe landing. Passengers disembarked on the runway and were provided an alternative flight.

    Bird-Hit JetBlue Flight Makes Safe Landing in Saint Croix

    JetBlue flight B6-340 made a safe landing following a bird strike near Saint Croix, Virgin Islands, on July 26th.

    The Embraer ERJ-190 plane flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was on approach to Saint Croix when a bird hit it.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    KLM Flight Returns to Amsterdam due to Hydraulic Issue

    KLM flight KL-661 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on September 4th.

    The Boeing 787-900 plane took off for Houston, Texas, but had to turn back due to a hydraulic issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
