    4 Injured in New Mexico Plane Crash

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna 210, coming from Ames, Iowa, crashed during a landing attempt at the Las Vegas Municipal airport in northern New Mexico, at about 6:39 p.m. on July 2.

    The six-seat propeller plane had 4 people aboard at the time of the accident, including the pilot James Fretham, 50 and the passengers Elizabeth Fretham, 49, Caitrin Fretham, 21 and Grace Fretham, 15.

    According to Las Vegas Police Chief Christian Montano, the pilot was airlifted to Christus St. Vincents Regional Medical Center with critical spinal injuries, while the other three on-board suffered only minor injuries and were released after treatment at a local hospital.

    The plane is registered to James A. Fretham of Chanhassen, Minnesota.

    The FAA and NTSB are looking into the causes of crash.

    Rusty the Border Collie Rescued After his Master’s Fatal Crash

    What: Cessna 180 en route from Vulcan, Alta., to Springfield, B.C.,
    Where: Williams Lake, Rocky Mountains
    When April 26 2011, between 8 and 9 am
    Who: Fifty-nine year old pilot Ed Fedaj
    Why: Friday, the dog Rusty was found by Parks staff Rusty survived a plane crash that killed his owner Ed Fedaj, but before the dog could be recovered, he disappeared into the park. After being looked over by a vet, Rusty, a 6 yr-old Border Collie will be returned to his family, to be adopted by Ted Fedaj.

    The Cessna 180 was found where it slammed into a gorge at 1,500 metres on the side of Mount King. Ed’s body was retrieved in spite of an avalanche risk.

    Ed had been visiting relatives in southern Alberta and was returning home to Williams Lake when he crashed.

    The B.C. Coroners Service and the Federal Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

    Panel From ANA Plane Falls Near Narita International Airport

    All Nippon Airways flight NH-936 dropped a panel while descending toward Narita International Airport, Japan, on September 27th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 767-300 plane was flying from Xiamen, China.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    No injuries were reported.

    Sedona Breakfast Flight Ends in Tragedy

    What: Chopper II LLC Aérospatiale AS 350B Astar en route from from Sedona to Scottsdale.
    Where: Sedona AZ
    When: June 30, 2012
    Who: 4 aboard, 4 fatalities
    Why: A Aérospatiale AS 350B Astar, N729DP that was reported overdue on Saturday was found by a private pilot at 8:45 a..m. Sunday crashed into the Verde river south of Camp Verde, Arizona. According to FAA reports, “THE 4 PERSONS ON BOARD WERE FATALLY INJURED.”

    The wreckage was consistent with a pilot flying at low speed and low altitude.

    The remains were found of the pilot, 70-year-old Raymond Perry of Phoenix, 68-year-old passenger Karen Stinn of Cave Creek and 63-year-old Mike Dunaway and 64-year-old Linda Dunaway of Glendale. They were taken to Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office. Perry is the CEO of the Arriba Mexican Grill restaurant chain.

    A helicopter mechanic reported that it looked as if the chopper nose-dived and the blades from the chopper and the transmission tore through the main cabin where the pilot and passengers were sitting. Wind may have factored in. The helicopter was found in the Verde river.

    Thai Helicopter Crash Kills 5

    What: Thai Eurocopter AS 350 helicopter en route from Phitsanulok province to take the officials to the inauguration of a river basin development project
    Where: remote area of jungle in Na Muen district of Nan province northern Thailand
    When: August 18 2010
    Who: 5 passengers including Permanent Secretary for natural resources and environment Saksit Tridech, inspector-general of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department and a senior adviser to the Royal Household Bureau. The pilot who worked for the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry was Major Jenwit Arunsawat. Sergeant Withoon Thienngern, who was the machinist, also aboard.
    Why: While flying over a remote jungle in stormy weather, the helicopter disappeared from radar. The search involved 350 rangers, soldiers, forestry officials, village headmen and villagers. Ground search of 17 separate search parties led by local guides and four search helicopters were utilized to find the wreckage which was located Wednesday, three kilometers from the closest settlement. The helicopter crashed into a mountainside at 1,500 meters. There was no fire.

    Wednesday, rescue teams encountered steep terrain, making the recovery of the remains difficult but the five bodies were recovered.

    Funeral services will be at Wat Phra Si Maha That in Bangkok.
