All Nippon Airways flight NH-936 dropped a panel while descending toward Narita International Airport, Japan, on September 27th.
The incident happened when the Boeing 767-300 plane was flying from Xiamen, China.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
No injuries were reported.
A single engine plane crashed into El Mirage Dry Lake in Adelanto, Mojave Desert, California.
According to Tracey Martinez, spokesperson of the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the two-seater plane crashed into the dry lake bed at about 11:30 a.m. on June 9. She also said that the plane flipped several times before coming to rest.
Brian Lee, a 47-year-old Los Angeles Fire Department pilot and firefighter paramedic, died at the hospital. A boy believed to be under 10 years old, was injured and was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
The aircraft also sustained serious damage.
The cause of accident is under investigation.
A two-seater light plane crash landed on to a service road near Muirs Highway in Mount Barker, Western Australia, on September 5th.
The RV9 lost all its power while the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing and hit the trees before crash landing.
The pilot and his wife were rescued with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

Why: The Bell 206B JetRanger was en route with five people aboard when it took off to about 25 feet above ground, and spun, then crashed for an unknown reason upside down into the East River. The flight had just taken off from the riverbank launch pad. Two people were injured, one was missing. Four individuals were rescued from the water, including the pilot. While the helicopter was submerged, rescuers searched for the fifth passenger, Sonia Marra Nicholson, but did not find her until it was too late. The chopper had sunk 50 feet into the water. Nicholson had been visiting New York on the occasion of her 40th birthday.
THe passengers who were rescued were Nicholson’s partner Helen Tamaski, her mother Harriet Nicholson and her stepfather Paul Nicholson, all of whom are in stable condition at Bellevue and New York University Hospitals. Paul and Harriet Nicholson live in Portugal but are British citizens. Sonia Marra Nicholson and Helen Tamaski lived in Australia.
The pilot Paul Dudley also survived. The passengers were close personal friends. He manages the Linden, N.J., airport.
Rescuers included police officers who where on hand, running a drill on the East River, and who, still in uniform, jumped in to assist passengers.

A Mooney en route from Palm Springs to San Diego Gillespie Field went missing on Wednesday October 9. The sheriff’s deputies helicopter search was suspended Wednesday due to gusty winds, and was found on Thursday at 1:00 a.m.
The search for the plane registered to Andrew Thulin, of San Diego was centered four miles northeast of Julian, near the Volcan Mountain Wilderness. Emergency responders and searchers included US Border Patrol, deputies from Julian, and sheriff’s search and rescue.
Rescuers pinged the pilot’s phone to locate the wreckage and the bodies of a man and woman.

What: Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 en route from Sydney to Brisbane

Why: The Qantas Boeing was 170nm north of Sydney diverting from its flight plan, deviating around a storm. Simultaneously, a Virgin Boeing had been cleared to climb above weather.
Their locations and trajectory triggered an alert.
The planes arrived safely.
ATLANTA, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing (NYSE: BA) Business Jets today announced that the Rockwell Collins Enhanced Vision System (EVS) was certified last week by the Federal Aviation Administration on a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ), an Air National Guard C-40. The Rockwell Collins EVS is available to current and future BBJ operators as a post-production modification.
The EVS capability enhances situational awareness for pilots during approach, landing, taxi and takeoff by presenting an image of the external environment on the Head-up Guidance System (HGS) and head-down displays.
The system uses an infrared sensor to improve the pilots’ view of the runway in various conditions including bad weather. This aids pilots to avoid terrain and clearly identify the runway, including any obstructions, early in the approach. It also assists pilots with “black hole” approaches to airports not equipped with precision landing aids and with landing and maneuvering at unfamiliar airports.
“I had the pleasure of flying several of the flights during the EVS development flight-test program with the Air National Guard and the Rockwell Collins team. That experience gave me the chance to see the EVS advantages first hand,” said Steve Taylor, Boeing Business Jets president.
“Given the variety of destinations visited by most BBJ operators, the improved situational awareness that EVS provides can be a great advantage,” said Taylor.
“The truly collaborative effort between Rockwell Collins, Boeing, the Air National Guard and the entire development team has made EVS a reality for BBJ owners and operators who have been eagerly awaiting this capability,” said David Austin, senior director, HGS for Rockwell Collins.
Installation of the EVS system on BBJs requires that the airplanes receive an upgrade to the HGS 4000, a modified radome, and the infrared camera.
The EVS system will be demonstrated on the Air National Guard BBJ at DeKalb Peachtree Airport during the National Business Aviation Association convention, Oct. 19-22, 2010.
