A medical emergency prompted an Etihad Airways flight to make an unscheduled landing in Perth, Australia, at about 1:30 p.m. on November 18.
The flight, heading from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne, was diverted for an emergency landing after a passenger became ill midair.
The plane landed safely and the passenger was shifted to St Charles Gairdner Hospital. It is believed that he suffered a stroke.

Why: Just after takeoff, the plane was still over Iasi when the pilots had to shut down the right engine.
The crew made a safe landing in Iasi, delaying but not postponing the flight.
On Sept 14, 2013, an Easyjet Airbus en route from Pisa to London was taking off from Pisa when it suffered a bird strike.
The pilots entered a holding pattern and made a safe landing in Pisa around 11:30.
THe extent of the damage to the plane #G-EZIZ is not known.
No injuries were reported.

Why: After extending the gear, one main gear tire was observed to be flat–not a surprise because debris was found at the airport of origin.
All precautions were engaged during landing and the flight landed safely with no injuries reported. The plane was towed off the runway to a maintenance bay.

Pilots shut down the engine and made a safe landing. Passengers were provided alternative flights.
A Dubai-bound Air India Express flight IX 539 returned and made an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport, Kerala, India, at 10:30 p.m. on August 19.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 4:30 p.m. local time, however, the passengers were told that it would be delayed due to a technical issue in the aircraft. The plane finally took off at 7:52 p.m. and just minutes after that, the decision for emergency landing was made following a failure in the electronics system.
The plane landed uneventfully after shedding extra fuel. All 195 passengers and crew members remained unhurt.
The passengers were booked in another flight for Wednesday morning.
