Why: A hot air balloon with 32 aboard caught fire and crashed into a tree, burning four beyond recognition. At least six children were injured. Then people at the scene were reported resuscitated; eight in the crash were in critical condition. One passenger was quoted as saying “we were landing, but I think the speed was too high for landing so we hit the ground, bounced off once and hit it again. We held on, but five of us fell out“. Twenty-one were admitted in the hospital Ljubljana, and seven to other hospitals. The injured included one brit and three Italians.When the balloon hit the ground and and bounced back in the air, some passengers jumped or fell out, scattering the injured across four locations and making it more difficult for rescuers. Nine teams with ambulances and twelve emergency medical service teams responded as well as 79 firefighters, 20 fire fighting vehicles and three helicopters.
The balloon takes off and lands in uncontrolled airspace and does not need air traffic control clearance.
Prime Minister Janez Janša, Minister for Health Tomaz Gantar, Minister of Defense Aleš Hojs and Interior Minister Vinko Gorenak expressed condolences.
The cause is being attributed to ground level wind shear. The pilot needed to retake a health exam to renew his license in June.
Five are unidentified.
The on board extinguishers apparently had cracked cylinders.

Why: 125 miles east of Aberdeen, the helicopter was forced to ditch in conditions of poor visibility. Flotation bags kept the helicopter afloat. Passengers waited on two rubber rafts. Individuals on the platform called the coast guard. Rescue vehicles included a Nimrod from RAF Kinloss, a Coastguard copter and a Sea King from RAF Lossiemouth. Emergency homing beacons fitted to the rafts and the men’s survival suits assisted the rescue as conditions made them nearly invisible.Three were winched to a helicopter; 15 were rescued by lifeboat, taken to the platform and flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. A triumph of rescue. No fatalities.

Why: After the Cirrus engine failed, a father and daughter from Birmingham Alabama on a humanitarian mission deployed the plane’s parachute and ended up in a raft in the sea after their airplane crashed two miles off the coast of the Bahamas.After their distress call to ATC Miami Center of Aircraft Emergency at around 12: 15 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard sent a HC-144 Ocean Sentry on reconnaissance and located their raft. Richard McGlaughlin, 59, and Elaine McGlaughlin, 25 were retrieved from their inflatable onto a Jayhawk chopper.

Small Plane Makes Crash Landing in Cherokee County
A twin-engine plane made a crash landing in a field near County Road 1314 and Farm to Market Road 768 in Rusk, Texas, on October 25.The pilot had to make a crash landing after the plane’s right engine failed during a flight from Reklaw to Cherokee County Airport.
The aircraft was carrying 4 people, including the pilot, his wife and 2 others. One of them was airlifted to ETMC Tyler while another was shifted to Jacksonville ETMC through ambulance.
The authorities confirmed that the passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The FAA and the DPS are investigating.
