    What: SATA International Airbus A310-300 en route from Lisbon Portugal to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
    Where: Lisbon
    When: Jun 15th 2009
    Who: 222 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, an oil leak was detected in the Airbus and it returned to the airport. Passengers debarked and eventually took an alternative airbus. One passenger was ill.

    Sky One Airways Helicopter Diverts to India due to Technical Problem

    Skyone AirwaysSky One Airways helicopter had to divert and make an emergency landing in Nagaon, Assam, India, on September 15th.

    The helicopter carrying 8 people was bound for Ithanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, when it encountered a sudden technical problem.

    The helicopter landed safely.

    All 6 crew members and 2 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    LC Peru Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lima

    LC Peru flight W4-1323 made an emergency landing in Lima, Peru, on August 19th.

    The plane flying from Lima, Peru, was on approach to Ayacucho, Peru, when the crew went around due to an unsafe nose gear indication.

    The plane subsequently returned to Lima where it landed safely.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    What: United Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Washington DC to Las Vegas
    Where: Denver
    When: Jan 23rd 2010
    Who: 129 passengers and 5 crew
    Why: Things were humming along normally on the flight when 24 miles from Denver, a passenger–who had taken medication and alcohol–was apparently disoriented and attempted to open the door. Other passengers subdued him; and the pilot made a stop in Denver to hand the passenger over to authorities (where the man will be going mental evaluation, and who knows what else, with attention from the FBI and police.)

    (And hopefully AA or The Betty Ford Clinic.)

    Small Plane Crashes on Roof of a Commercial Building in Pomona

    A small plane crashed onto the roof of a commercial building in Pomona, California, on May 8th.

    The Piper PA-28 aircraft was heading to Brackett Field Airport, La Verne, when it went down under unknown circumstances.

    There were two people aboard at the time; one of them was taken to hospital.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Delta Flight Diverts to Phoenix

    On Friday January 4, 2012, Delta flight 65 en route from Atlanta to Las Vegas experienced engine problems and had to divert to sky Harbor.

    The Boeing 757-200 made a safe landing minus one engine with emergency services on standby. An inspection determined there had been a fuel leak. Passengers were provided an alternative flight and were scheduled to land in Las Vegas before 8:30 pm.’
