    Small Plane Crashes into Lake in Louisiana; 2 Missing

    A small Cessna crashed into Lake Pontchartrain near the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, New Orleans, Louisiana, on the night of August 27th.

    There were three people onboard out of whom a woman was rescued and taken to hospital.

    Two missing persons are still being searched for.

    Allegiant Air Flight Diverts to St. Petersburg Due to Bad Weather

    AllegiantAllegiant Air flight 977 had to make an emergency landing at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in St. Petersburg, Florida, at 7:53 p.m. on July 3.

    The MD-83 aircraft, en-route to Putna Gorda in Florida, from Asheville, North Carolina, had to divert because of bad weather conditions.

    According to Allegiant, the pilot had to declare emergency before landing when an “indicator light” indicated a “maintenance issue” in the plane.

    The plane, carrying 146 passengers and 6 crew members, landed uneventfully.

    The passengers were adjusted in a replacement flight.

    The issue is being investigated.

    Mexico Bound Sunwing Flight Suffers Severe Turbulence Over Montana

    A Puerto Vallarta, Mexico bound Sunwing flight experienced extreme turbulence, while flying over Montana, and made emergency landing at Helena Regional Airport, Montana.

    The flight took off from Edmonton, Canada. Severe turbulence near Montana disturbed the flight and injured two flight attendants, after which the pilot declared a medical emergency and landed at Helena Regional Airport at 7:30 a.m. on March 17, 2014.

    According to the airport spokesperson, the injured flight attendants suffered only minor injuries and did not need medical attention.

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport

    United Airlines flight 102 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on February 12th.

    The Boeing 767 plane, heading from Houston, Texas, to Munich, Germany, was diverted after the crew reported problems with one of the two engines.

    The plane landed safely. There were 98 passengers and 13 crew members aboard; none of them were harmed.

    Portland-Bound Alaska Airlines Plane Diverts to Eugene Airport

    wings of alaskaAlaska airlines flight 2151 had to make an emergency landing at Eugene Airport, Oregon, on November 17.

    The plane, heading from Seattle to Portland, had to be diverted after the pilot reported a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed safely. There were 52 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a bus that took passengers to Portland.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Atlanta

    Delta Airlines flight DL-151 had to return to Atlanta, Georgia, on June 14th.

    The Boeing 767-400 plane took off for Lima, Peru, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.

    On approach to Atlanta, the crew also reported a flaps problem. The plane subsequently landed at higher than normal speed.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
