An AirAsia flight from Kota Kinabalu to Penang made an emergency landing here yesterday afternoon after an elderly female passenger complained of chest pain.
Seventy-one year-old Annie Dunlop from Sandakan, was on an Air Asia flight from Koto Kinabalu to Penang when she suffered chest pain. Pilots diverted to Kuching International Airport where she was pronounced dead. Her remains were taken to Sarawak General Hospital.
The Air Asia flight continued on to Penang
Air Arabia Egypt flight E5-337 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt, on June 29th.
The Airbus A320-200, heading from Borg El Arab Airport, Alexandria Governorate, Egypt, to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was diverted due to problems with an engine.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 120 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
EgyptAir Express flight MS-392 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Luxor, Egypt, on February 17th.
The plane heading from Aswan to Cairo, Egypt, was diverted after the crew noticed a crack in the windshield.
The plane landed safely. All 71 people aboard remained unharmed.
JetBlue flight 683 had to return and make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, on the morning of October 4.
The plane was on its way to Orlando, Florida, with 144 people aboard, when the pilot reported a bird strike. It was then turned back to JFK where it landed uneventfully.
A spokesperson of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that no injuries were reported and that the aircraft remained undamaged.
The passengers were transferred to another aircraft which departed at 8:45 a.m. to take them to their destination.

What: ANA All Nippon Airways Airbus A320-200 en route from Nagoya to Sapporo

Who: 169 aboard
Why: On taking off from Nagoya, the pilots found a cabin pressure problem. They returned to Nagoya to make a safe landing. The plane was in the air less than half an hour.
The error appears to have been the indicator. An investigation is underway.

What: American Airlines Boeing 767-200 en route from San Francisco to New York

Who: 3 flight attendants
Why: While en route to NY, the flight encountered turbulence. Several flight attendants received bumps and bruises from the encounter. The flight diverted to Chicago, landing there half an hour after the incident, and remained In Chicago for an hour and a half prior to taking off again for New York.
Southwest Airlines flight WN-50 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Mid Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, on April 10th.
The Boeing 737-300 was en-route from Dallas, Texas, to Kansas City, Missouri, when the crew reported loss of cabin pressure and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. All 143 passengers and 5 crew members remained unhurt.
