    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kahului

    Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-23 made an emergency landing in Kahului, Hawaii, on August 31st.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane was flying from Oakland, California, when the several passengers complained of breathing problems due to an unusual odor on board.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    Twelve passengers and three crew members were checked by medical teams at the airport.

    It is believed that the odor was caused by a pepper spray.

    El Al Israel Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Romania

    El Al Israel Airlines flight LY-572 had to return for an emergency landing at Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on August 1st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Tel Aviv, Israel, but had to turn back after the crew reported a loud noise in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Light Plane Lands in Emergency near Auckland

    Light planeA small plane made an emergency landing on the Muriwai Golf Course near Auckland, New Zealand, before 5:25 p.m. on August 18.

    The pilot decided to make an emergency landing after his light plane ran out of fuel. Fire Service spokesman Michael Upton explained, “We got calls from residents who heard the plane spluttering away, or its engine failing, and saw the aircraft go down on the golf course.”

    The plane landed uneventfully and no one on-board was hurt.

    American Airlines Flight Diverts to Yakima

    Who: 149 passengers and 6 crew, 1 ill passenger
    Why: When a passenger on the flight became ill, the flight diverted to Yakima, where the passenger was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after a safe landing. The landing was uneventful except for brakes overheating.

    After a 7.5 hour delay, passengers were back en route.

    AirBaltic Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Clear Air Turbulence Injures Three

    AirBalticAirBaltic flight BT-211 had to make an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany on November 24.

    The Boeing 737-300, flying from Riga, Latvia, declared emergency after it encountered severe clear air turbulence that injured a flight attendant and two passengers.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Authorities said one passenger was taken to hospital with a fractured leg while the other passenger and crew member were treated at the airport.

    The flight was carrying 59 passengers and 5 crew members at the time.

    Air Canada Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Failure

    Air Canada flight AC-824 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on March 18th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane flying from Toronto, Canada, was on final approach to Amsterdam when the crew reported a hydraulic failure and requested emergency assistance.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
