Why: During/after takeoff, the plane’s engine “popped” when the left engine compressor stalled. The pilot reported engine trouble, andreturned to Phoenix where they made a safe landing. An alternative plane was provided.
Delta Airlines flight DL-8889 had to return and make an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on May 23rd.
The Boeing 757-200 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back due to a cabin pressure problem.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Grozny Avia Yakovlev Yak-42 en route from Moscow to Grozny

Why: Several minutes after takeoff, an anonymous call from Belarus to the Vnukovo airport raised a bomb alert that forced the emergency landing of the flight in Volgograd.
Passengers disembarked and the plane has been isolated for examination.
An EasyJet flight, en route from Aberdeen to London Gatwick, was diverted to Birmingham on Thursday, due to a medical emergency.
According to the airline spokesperson, “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY872 from Aberdeen to London Gatwick diverted to Birmingham Airport on April, 17, 2014 due to a passenger onboard requiring urgent medical assistance.”
The plane carrying 125 passengers safely landed on Birmingham Airport at about 10 am.
TezJet Air flight TEZ-107 had to return and make an emergency landing in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on March 1st.
The plane took off for Batken, Kyrgyzstan, but had to turn back due to an uncontained engine failure.
