    Braathens Regional Airways flight TF-29 had to return for an emergency landing in Gothenburg, Sweden, on December 20th.

    The plane took off for Stockholm, Sweden, but had to turn back due to a gear problem.

    Where: Y-Landing Marina on Meredith Neck, Lake Winnipesaukee
    When: May. 26, 2009 11:30 a.m.
    Who: 4 aboard
    Why: The helicopter was struck by wind gusts on approach to the landing pad, and landed in 15 foot water. Everyone made it safely to shore. Pilot was Glenn Tonnesen. Passengers include Phil Davidson.

    I saw a comment online where someone cites the Robinson Helicopter Safety Notice:
    “Flying in high winds or turbulence should be avoided..”

    Nepal Airlines Corporation Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kathmandu

    nepal airlinesNepal Airlines Corporation flight RA-206 made an emergency landing in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 26th.

    The plane was flying from New Delhi, India, when the crew reported smoke in cockpit and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 154 passengers and 9 crew members aboard remained safe.

    Scandinavian Airlines Plane Suffers Tail Strike in Alesund, Norway

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-1323 suffered a tail strike at Alesund Vigra Airport, Norway, on January 13th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane was departing for Oslo, Norway. The crew continued the takeoff but subsequently diverted to Trondheim, Norway.

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-116 had to return and make an emergency landing at Dallas Love Field, Texas, on June 16th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Albuquerque, New Mexico, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Returns to Chicago after Bird Strike

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-105 had to return for an emergency landing in Chicago, Illinois, on December 15th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Las Vegas, Nevada, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. There were 164 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
