    London Investigates Agusta Westland Helicopter Crash

    London’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch is working the first helicopter accident in London since 1976. A review of helicopter flight regulation over the UK capital is already underway.

    In low broken clouds with visibility of 2,300 feet, the AgustaWestland struck a crane on January 16 on top of the Tower at St George Wharf and fell to the street around 8 a.m.. The pilot had diverted to Battersea heliport due to bad weather.

    Warning lights were on the building but not on the crane. (Crane lights had an allowed shut off around daylight.

    Eurowings Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Eurowings flight EW-7778 had to return and make an emergency landing in Hamburg, Germany, on September 14th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Prague, Czech Republic, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    What: Norwegian Air Shuttle Boeing 737-300 en route from Stockholm Arlanda to Nice France
    Where: Hamburg
    When: Nov 19th 2009
    Who: unavailaboe
    Why: When the crew reported smoke in the cockpit, the plane diverted to Hamburg. After a safe landing, a replacement jet was provided, and after a delay of a few hours, the flight resumed without further event.

    Air India Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Jaipur

    Air India flight AI-436 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Jaipur, India, on February 6th.

    The plane flying from Bhopal to Delhi, India, was diverted due to poor weather conditions in Delhi. However, as the plane approached Jaipur, the crew requested a priority landing reporting low fuel indications.

    The plane landed safely. All 122 passengers and 7 crew members remained unharmed.

    Helicopter Lands in Emergency in a Plymouth Park

    Helicopter crashA helicopter made an emergency landing in a park in Plymouth, Indiana, on the night of February 26.

    The helicopter was en-route to the Plymouth airport when it began experiencing engine problems. The pilot then looked for an open space and landed in a park behind the Boys and Girls Clubs of Marshall County building. The aircraft sustained minor damage during landing.

    Authorities said both occupants of the aircraft, including the 46-year-old pilot and his 66-year-old father, remained uninjured.
