    Why: Four hours into the 7/12 hour flight, a fuel leak occurred. Engine 4, the source, was shut down as a consequence. 90 minutes after the leak was detected, the plane made a safe emergency landing in Perth. Last year an exploding oxygen tank blew a hole in this very plane; but there is no connection.

    American Eagle Jet Diverts to Tulsa International Airport

    American EagleAmerican Eagle flight 3235 had to make an emergency landing at Tulsa International Airport, Oklahoma, on February 9.

    The plane, heading from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, had to be diverted after the pilot reported fumes in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully at around 6:15 p.m. and was immediately evacuated. None of the 63 passengers and 4 crew members was harmed.

    The cause of fumes is being investigated.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Jeddah

    Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-21 had to return and make an emergency landing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on December 9th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to turn back due to a tail strike indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Allegiant Air Flight Diverts to Jacksonville International Airport

    AllegiantAllegiant Air flight 758 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Jacksonville International Airport, Florida, on March 2nd.

    Authorities said the plane, heading from Orlando Sanford International Airport, Florida, to Indianapolis International Airport, Indiana, was diverted due to a pressurization problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 155 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

    The airline said in a statement, “A replacement aircraft will be sent to JAX from SFB and is scheduled to depart JAX at 12:40 p.m. and arrive in IND at 2:40 p.m. Passengers will be receiving a refund for the flight segment, food at the gate, the option to change their flight to another one in the Allegiant network and $200 vouchers for future travel on Allegiant.”

    Flybe Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Birmingham

    Flybe flight BE-1265 made an emergency landing in Birmingham, England, on February 7th.

    The plane heading from Manchester, England, to Luxembourg was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
