The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany, was on final approach to Brussels when the crew noticed an engine failure.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Skymark Airlines flight 732 had to return and make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport, Hakkaido, Japan, on August 22nd.
The aircraft en-route to Haneda, Japan, was mid-air when a passenger’s portable battery charger exploded and started emitting smoke.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All 170 passengers onboard remained unharmed.

British Airways flight BA1421 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 27.
The plane took off from George Best Belfast City Airport and was heading to Heathrow Airport, London, when the pilot declared emergency. According to an airline spokesperson, “The flight landed normally after diverting shortly after take off as a precaution following a technical issue.”
There were 108 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

Who: Sixty-seven passengers and four crew (2 flight attendants, a pilot and co-pilot.)
Why: When smoke filled the cabin, and there were electrical problems, the flight diverted to Quad City International Airport in Moline. Emergency slides were not used, and there were no injuries.
It took under ten minutes from the perception of the emergency to the safe landing.

American Airlines flight AA-423 had to return and make an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 10th.
The plane took off for Charlotte, North Carolina, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.
The aircraft’s fuselage sustained significant damage.
