Kalitta Air flight K4-248 made an emergency landing in Leipzig, Germany, on June 14th.
The Boeing 747-400 plane flying from Delhi, India, was on final approach to Leipzig when the crew reported a flaps problem and went around.
The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach.
Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight 1373 had to return and make an emergency landing at Jacksonville International Airport, Florida, on November 12.
The MD-80 plane took off for Dallas, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards after the pilot reported a mechanical problem.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 140 passengers and 5 crew members remained unhurt.

Who: The pilot was the only one on board. No injuries.
Why: nose gear was damaged — meaning the front wheel would not fully extend — so the plane was forced to land on its belly.

Why: When the pilot became ill, the flight landed at Shannon Airport. The pilot was hospitalized in Limerick and the passengers were treated to an overnight hotel stay and will continue to JFK on Thursday. Rumor on the pilot network is that the pilot had a heart attack.
Singapore Airlines flight SQ-7108 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Denpasar International Airport in Bali, Indonesia, on October 26.
The Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft was transporting 2,186 sheep from Sydney, Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when the crew received smoke indication in a cargo bay and declared emergency.
The plane landed safely. All four crew members aboard remained unhurt.
It is believed that the exhaust gasses and sheep manure was the cause of smoke indication.
The plane resumed its journey after 2.5 hours.
An Alaskan Airlines de Havilland DH8 en route from San Jose to Boise Idaho developed a fire in the right engine and made an emergency landing when it returned to the San Jose airport.
Emergency services were on standby. None of the 47 passengers or six crew reported any injuries.
The odor of burned metal was in the cabin, but no fire was found. Passengers were provided alternatives.

Why: The plane could not land at it’s scheduled Erkilet Airport destination, because of the wind and limited visibility due to dust. The flight was rerouted to Kapadokya Airport in Nevsehir where it made an emergency landing. Passengers were bused to Kayseri.
