What: Boeing-777-300 ER passenger jet owned by India’s JetWays en route from Delhi to London
Where: emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku Azerbaijan
When: May 2nd 2009
Who: 262 passengers and 15 crew
Why: A fire alert went off in the hold, indicating smoke some four hours into the flight. The plane diverted to Baku and passengers debarked. Apparently whatever the problem was was solved quickly, (false alarm) because the next day passengers apparently continued on their way on the same plane seven hours later.

The plane landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Student Group aboard D.C. United Plane During Flat Tire Landing
What: United Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Houston,TX to Washington DC

When: Apr 9th 2012 11:15 am
Who: 122 passengers and 5 crew
Why: On landing in Washington, the plane suffered two blown rear tires.The plane was towed to the terminal.
No injuries were reported.
Fourteen students and chaperones from Mt. Carmel Louisiana were aboard, and were interviewed by a TV station after the rough landing in Washington DC. They said the landing was rough, and praised the pilot for being so calm.
Another group of fourteen joining them flew in on a different plane from Atlanta. They will all be returning to Lafayette on Friday, and they say none of them have developed a fear of flying.
LOT Polish Airlines Flight Lands in Emergency at Glasgow Airport
A LOT Polish Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Scotland’s Glasgow airport at 11:35 a.m. on September 26.The decision for emergency landing was made after the crew received an alert from the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s fire protection system. The aircraft, carrying 260 people, was on its way from Chicago, US, to Warsaw, Poland, at the time.
The plane landed safely and no one was hurt.
An airline spokesperson Barbara Pijanowska-Kuras said, “The emergency landing of the plane was caused by a glitch in the fire protection system…There was no fire or smoke onboard.”

Cargolux Airlines Flight Returns to Chicago due to Engine Issue
Cargolux Airlines flight CV-603 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chicago, Illinois, on October 9th.The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
