Why: After passenger one reclined his seat into passenger two’s lap, passenger two objected
and slapped passenger one in the head. Apparently passenger one retaliated. This escalated into a fight, which had to be broken up by passenger 3 and a flight attendant.The fight that erupted between passengers resulted in a fighter escort from Andrews Air Force Base being sent in to shadow the flight on its return/diversion to Washington.
No one was arrested and no charges were filed, but police did meet the UA flight on its arrival. The flight was delayed for eighteen hours.

EasyJet flight U2-1454 had to divert for an emergency landing at Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport, France, on October 7th.The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Porto, Portugal, to Geneva, Switzerland, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-one passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

Why: While flight attendants were about to serve drinks when the flight encountered severe turbulence that slammed them into the ceiling of the plane, then the floor.Three members of the flight crew were injured during the flight, one of them seriously.
Pilots diverted to Lake Charles Regional Airport where the injured were taken to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

They really have to come up with science that sees all upcoming turbulence, so the plane can avoid it before something really bad happens. Air Cairo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cairo
Air Cairo flight SM-451 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt, on August 1.The Airbus A320-200 plane en-route from Alexandria, Egypt, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was diverted after the crew noticed a leak in one of the main cabin doors.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 111 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Why: After experiencing air pressurization problems while en route, the oxygen masks were deployed. Unable to handle the problem, the pilot diverted to San Antonio where it made a safe landing. A replacement jet was provided Saturday which left at 7:45 a.m. Passengers were provided hotel accommodations in the meantime.
