    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Ohio due to Cracked Window

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-957 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Ohio, on May 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-700 flying from Chicago, Illinois, to Newark, New Jersey, had to divert due to a crack in the cabin window.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 81 passengers aboard remained safe.

    Delta Atlanta-Manchester Flight Returns to Atlanta

    Who: 180 aboard
    Why: After take-off, the plane developed problems with the leading-edge slats, which could not be retracted. Pilots returned to Atlanta where the flight maintained for 3.5 hours at 10,000ft, dumped and burn-off fuel.

    At 23:10, the flight made a slats-but-no-flaps landing, after which passengers disembarked. There were no injuries. Passengers were provided an alternative flight.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Wichita

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2567 had to return and make an emergency landing at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, Kansas, on October 11th.

    The plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to turn back due to pressurization issues.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Bird-Hit Aerolineas Argentinas Plane Safely Lands in Buenos Aires

    Aerolineas ArgentinasAerolineas Argentinas flight AR-1285 made a safe landing after a bird strike in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 18th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Santiago, Chile, when a bird hit and damaged its nose.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Who: 18 aboard, 7 fatalities
    Why: After an avalanche, the bodies of 7 German tourists aboard a helicopter have been recovered. Two survivors (the captain and one tourist) have been taken to a medical center and search is ongoing for the rest of those aboard. Inhospitable mountainous terrain is impeding the search

    Why: The helicopter chartered by CNPC oil was lost over the Tenere desert.

    The wreckage was found by the military. The occupants (two french crew, four chinese passengers) died in the crash. CNPC has not released a public statement.
