    #Rescue: Three Men in a Boat

    seaexpressiiAfter the cargo ship they were in was forced to make an emergency landing, three Miamians were found floating in a boat in the Bahamas, fifteen miles from Bimini.

    Pilot Ernie Martin had to land the Cessna 337 on the water when both engines lost fuel. He sustained a small cut that did not require hospitalization.

    Passengers Daniel Puig and Javier Avino were aboard after a vacation in Great Harbor Key. Puig credits his seat belt for keeping him from going through the windshield.

    All three were rescued by the Sea Express II, a Seacor Island Lines’ cargo ship.

    Who: 85 passengers, 6 crew
    Why: The All Nippon Airways flight had taken off when the anti-ice system on the left engine failed.

    The pilots returned to the airport.

    Passengers were provided an alternative flight to Tokyo.

    AirAsia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Philippines

    AirAsia ZestAirAsia Flight Z2 763 had to make an emergency landing at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Cebu, Philippines, on December 15.

    It s believed that the pilots of the plane, flying from Manila, declared emergency due to a hydraulic problem in its landing gear.

    According to Philippines Air Asia, “The plane had technical issue on its way to the ramp and had to be towed. Safety and engineering teams are currently checking the cause.”

    There were 166 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Malaysia Airlines Plane Rejects Takeoff From Kuala Lumpur

    Malaysia Airlines flight MH-127 had to reject takeoff from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 21st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Perth, Australia, when the crew suspected a blown tire and rejected takeoff.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Gol Linhas Aéreas Plane makes Safe Landing in Brazil

    GolGol Linhas Aéreas flight G3-1253 had to return and make a safe landing at Sen. Petronio Portella Airport, Teresina, Piaui, Brazil, on December 12.

    The Boeing 737-800 was en-route to Brasilia, Brazil, when the crew encountered some problem with its engine and returned to Teresina for a safe landing.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers aboard remained unhurt.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lexington

    United Airlines flight UA-4183 had to return and make an emergency landing in Lexington, Kentucky, on June 12th.

    The plane took off for Houston, Texas, but had to turn back due to an issue with the nose gear.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
