    Pilot Injured after Small Plane Crashed in Rhea County

    A small plane crashed on Dayton Mountain in Rhea County, Tennessee, on June 20th.

    The plane went down when the pilot was heading from Illinois to Atlanta, Georgia.

    The pilot was injured in the crash and was taken to Erlanger Medical Center, Chattanooga.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Brisbane-Bound Etihad Airways Flight Hits Turbulence

    Etihad Airways flight EY-484 encountered turbulence on the way to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on January 30th.

    The Boeing 787-900 plane was flying from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, when it hit turbulence that injured several people on-board.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    What: Japan Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Okinawa to Osaka Itami
    Where: Wakayama Prefecture
    When: Thursday November 19
    Who: 344 passengers and 12 crewmembers; 4 injuries
    Why: While en route, the plane encountered air turbulence over the Pacific Ocean. At the time of the turbulence, onboard seatbelt signs were off. Four on board sustained injuries (three students and one teacher returning from a school trip to Okinawa) and were taken to a hospital in Osaka.

    Plane Carrying Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Diverts to Turkmenistan

    Biman Bangladesh AirlinesBiman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-1011, carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, had to divert and make an emergency landing in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on November 27th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Budapest, Hungary, was diverted after the crew received a low fuel pressure indication for an engine.

    The plane landed safely. There were 99 passengers and 29 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Emergency Landing

    December 25, 2012, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 en route from Denver to Kansas City International diverted to Omaha and made a safe landing at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield. None of the 109 passengers and five crew members were injured.

    The plane developed a fuel valve problem while en route.

    Passengers were provided an alternative vehicle.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Salt Lake City

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-604 had to return and make an emergency landing in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 26th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Los Angeles, California, but had to turn back after one of the engines caught fire.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and ten people aboard remained safe.
