    British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Azerbaijan

    British Airways flight BA-198 made an emergency landing in Baku, Azerbaijan, on December 11th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Mumbai, India, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All one hundred and thirty-five passengers and seventeen crew members remained safe.

    Light Plane Crashes in South Australia; 3 Killed

    A light plane crashed near the Renmark Aerodrome, Old Calperum, South Australia, on the evening of May 30th.

    The Cessna 441 Conquest II was on a routine crew check flight at the time.

    All three pilots were killed in the crash.

    The decreased were identified as Paul Daw, 65, Martin Scott, 48, and Stephen Guerin, 56.

    United Flight Diverts to Spokane due to Engine Problem

    new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight 273 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Spokane, Washington, shortly before 7 p.m. on December 21.

    The flight, en-route from Seattle to Newark, NJ, was diverted after the Airbus A320 lost power to one of its two engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully and no one aboard was injured.

    An alternate aircraft was arranged for the passengers.

    Experimental Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Cache County Hay Field

    A home built experimental plane made an emergency landing in an open hay field near 4800 West and Highway 218 in Cache county, Utah, on March 28.

    Authorities said the plane took off from Logan Cache Airport and was flying over the Trenton area when it began experiencing engine trouble. The pilot, identified as John Kerr, 74, of Logan, then decided to return to the airport, however, the plane’s engine failed midway.

    The aircraft made a hard landing and sustained major damage. The pilot remained uninjured.

    The incident is being investigated by the NTSB and FAA.

    Two planes collide over Westlake Village


    A Cessna 172 and a Cessna 172RG Cutlass collided over Westlake Village eight miles east northeast of Ventura.

    The Cutlass, registered to Ameriflyers of Florida LLC made an emergency landing on the Westlake Golf Course, Westlake Village, California. Three aboard sustained minor injuries in a belly landing at 2:15 p.m. near the third hole. They were hospitalized with minor injuries.

    The second plane crashed in the Santa Monica Mountains, sparking a brush fire and a search and rescue effort. The pilot was found under the wreckage.

    One of the planes had left Santa Monica Airport on an engine test flight and was heading east when it collided with the other.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Serbia

    Lufthansa flight LH-1410 made an emergency landing in Belgrade, Serbia, on July 22nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Frankfurt, Germany, was on final approach to Belgrade when the crew went around due to unsafe gear.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
